Lori Bock-Carter

I received my Bachelor's Degree in English, World Literature/Creative Writing from LIU Southampton in 1994 and my Master's Degree in Special Education/Reading Specialist from Dowling College in 1997. I have duel certification, holding certifications in both NY and SC with a Highly Qualified and Mentor Endorsements. I have been a special education teacher since 1998. I was born and raised on Long Island, NY. I taught at Westhampton Beach Elementary for 10 years.  I piloted the 4th grade inclusion program, the primary self-contained program, and the autism inclusion program.  I have a loving husband and two grown children.  We moved to Summerville, South Carolina in 2008.  I taught for another 10 years in Colleton County as the resource teacher between Northside Elementary and Cottageville Elementary, with the last 4 years solely being at Cottageville.  I switched districts and came to DD4 in August 2019.  I have a unique position at Clay Hill, being the only special education teacher at the school.  It is truly a family.  I love coming to work every day and helping to make a difference.
